Two workers George Milton and Lennie Small are crossing California on foot to find work. George is a cynical man and Lennie a giant of incredible strength, but slow-to-learn and almost child-like. Lennie likes soft things. George and Lennie had to flee the last town because Lennie touched a woman's hair and he'd been accused of rape.
